Two Yorkshire residents named as finalists in Caremark’s 2025 ‘The Incredibles’ national awards

Caremark, a leading UK home care provider, has announced the finalists for its annual UK awards, ‘The Incredibles’ and Yorkshire residents Remya Sathyaseelan [Barnsley] and Andrew Uwareme [Rotherham] have both been recognised in the country’s top ten care assistants. With over 6,500 care assistants across more than 140 Caremark franchises throughout the UK, the selection process was particularly competitive.

‘The Incredibles’ awards celebrate the contributions of care assistants who demonstrate an exceptional dedication to providing outstanding care. Both Remya and Andrew stood out for their unwavering commitment to improving the lives of their customers, offering not only professional care but compassion and kindness that has a lasting impact on those they support.

Andrew Uwareme – Caremark Rotherham & Sheffield

Andrew works with one young boy who has profound learning disabilities, autism and anxiety. Before he met Andrew, the boy’s behaviour could be very extreme, limiting his access to the local community and preventing him from enjoying life to the full. According to Mark McKenning, Managing Director of Caremark’s Rotherham & Sheffield office, Andrew’s dedication, patience and ability have had a profound impact on this little boy’s life.

“Andrew has shown huge resilience and consistency in the care he has given, helping to build his customer’s confidence and enable him to enjoy new adventures. How Andrew has expanded the young customer’s opportunities and experiences has been hugely positive for both the youngster and his family,” commented Mark.

Remya Sathyaseelan – Caremark Barnsley

According to Varghese Thomas and Jomon Mathew, Business Managers at Caremark’s Barnsley office, Remya is being recognised for her outstanding attention to detail, especially when it comes to record keeping and medication alerts. It’s been highlighted that she’s also been instrumental in managing several emergency situations to avoid hospitalisation, prioritises customer needs above her own commitments, and helped one customer redecorate his home after the passing of his father to help him through the grieving process.

Commenting on Remya’s care, one customer’s family said: “Mum thinks Remya is great. She always tells me she will help her with anything and nothing is ever too much trouble. She is caring and considerate, especially when treating mum’s legs. Even more importantly, she is always cheerful, usually going around the house singing.”

To honour these care assistants, Caremark will be hosting a special event at the iconic Fortnum & Mason in London on 21st November 2025. The finalists will enjoy an afternoon tea and be celebrated for their contributions to the care sector. The highlight of the event will be the announcement of ‘The Incredible of the Year’, a title reserved for the finalist whose work has shown exceptional dedication and impact.

David Glover, CEO of Caremark, praised all ten finalists for their outstanding achievements:

“Huge congratulations to both Andrew, Remya and our other 2025 ‘Incredibles’ finalists – the nominees for this year’s award are nothing short of remarkable. These are people who not only perform their jobs with excellence but do so with a deep sense of empathy and a genuine desire to improve the lives of others. We are incredibly proud of Remya, Andrew and all our finalists, who represent the very heart of Caremark and the broader care community.

“We hope this recognition shows our finalists how much we appreciate their compassion and inspires even more stories next year.”
