Raising the Bar in Cyber Security: Data Connect Group’s Journey to ISO27001, IASME Cyber Assurance, and Cyber Essentials Plus Certifications

In today’s digital landscape, cyber security is a top priority for businesses of all sizes. Protecting sensitive data, maintaining trust with customers, and preventing cyber threats is paramount for success in the modern business world.

Data Connect Group is a cyber security services provider offering end-to-end solutions including network security, vulnerability management, security awareness training and assistance with compliance.

They were delighted to share recently how they’ve obtained ISO 27001, IASME Cyber Assurance and Cyber Essentials Plus. These certifications validate their own efforts to adhere to the highest security standards and demonstrate their readiness to tackle evolving cyber threats effectively. They also want to lead the way, demonstrating to all businesses, charities and institutions that meeting one or more security compliance requirements is a positive investment. Examples of the benefits are increased credibility with customers and supply chain, reduced insurance premiums, thorough understanding of your cyber security posture and a dramatic decrease in the risk of a cyber attack. For Data Connect, the importance is even more simple, it emphasises how they are practicing what they preach.

The National Cyber Security Centre reported that 92% fewer insurance claims are made by organisations with Cyber Essentials controls in place, which is a staggering decrease as cyber threats become more sophisticated.

As a certification body for Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus and IASME Cyber Assurance, they were not new to the certification process. However, by also going through the long process of achieving ISO 27001, IASME Cyber Assurance and Cyber Essentials Plus, they fully understand the different challenges organisations face throughout the compliance journey. This certification experience, along with their knowledgeable and highly skilled cyber security expertise, has been really beneficial to their customers.

This has also led them to become an Assured Service Provider and Cyber Advisor for the Cyber Essentials scheme. As Simon Kean, Director, said “If you felt seriously unwell, you would consult a registered, qualified doctor and not Google. With so many supposed ‘cyber experts’ appearing on the scene, we feel strongly about being able to show proven credentials and experience across our consultants, technical architects, services and business procedures”.
