Healds Hall Hotel wins Ido Wedding award 2024

A West Yorkshire hotel, Healds Hall has just picked up a prestigious accolade at last week’s ‘I Do’ Wedding Awards as well as another honour from Trip Advisor.

The highly regarded ‘I Do’ Awards celebrate the best in wedding services, from florists to videography, and Healds Hall has triumphed in this year’s best venue category for the Yorkshire region.

Healds Hall has been carving a niche in the wedding market for over 4 decades, making the most of the historic hall’s luxurious interiors, beautiful gardens and award winning food – all put together by the dedicated team of staff.

It was the outstanding service that brought Healds Hall once again to the attention of Trip Advisor with this year’s Travellers’ Choice award. The honour celebrates the best restaurant, accommodation and service over a 12-month period.

The latest accolades come as owners Tom and Nora Harrington are celebrating 45 years in business at Healds Hall. They bought the Grade II listed building in the 1970s, beginning a project of loving restoration and building a business that also celebrates its historic and literary connections.

Built in 1764, the house is best known as the home of the Reverend Hammond Roberson. Patrick Bronte visited and Charlotte Bronte is said to have taken Roberson as the inspiration for the character Matthew Helstone in her novel Shirley. The building went on to become a school and the centre for the Spen Valley Literary and Scientific Society before becoming a hotel and restaurant.

General Manager Cara Spence said, “We are absolutely thrilled with the latest awards from IDo and Trip Advisor. We work hard to make every wedding so special and to do our very best for every guest. It’s tremendous to have that recognised.”
